Maycomb Mercantile

Maycomb Mercantile is a leather goods company that has been getting a lot of buzz lately in Atlanta.  It was started by wedding photographers Liana and Mike (I have no idea what their last name is – it is on none of their sites.)  They started making leather goods when their oldest son was a toddler. They named it Maycomb Mercantile because they love the classic book To Kill a Mockingbird.  They love it so much they named their son Atticus. They named their business Maycomb because that is the town where the story is set.

Maycomb Mercantile offers just a dozen items, including tote bags, pouches and watch bands.  Everything is hand made and customizable:  you can add brass feet to the bottom, a zippered top, and a Southern girls’ favorite thing:  a monogram.

The Scout (another character in TKAM) Classic Leather tote in British tan is my favorite. I would get it with the brass feet, a key lanyard (’cause I can never find my keys in my bag) and the branded monogram.
