I usually get up when it is dark, because I am such an early riser (I’m up before 5 a.m. most weekdays!). I get to work at 7 a.m. so that I can leave at 3 p.m. and spend the afternoon with the boys. Because I get up so early, I am usually the only one awake for at least an hour in the morning. I use this time to read my favorite design blogs and to write.

Don’t know what a palmetto bug is? It’s basically the hugest flying roach you’ve ever seen. One of the joys of living in the south! The pictures I posted here are some of my favorite kitchens, and by chance, they all just happen to be by Southern designers!
